Firmus Energy Objectives

firmus energy appointed Origin Digital to implement integrated digital strategies that would promote Natural Gas installation to Northern Ireland homes. The challenge was to target homeowners (not renters) in specific locations, to install gas, switch gas provider or switch from oil.

Live Life to the firmus

Firmus Energy worked with Origin Digital to deliver the digital campaign and creatives of the campaign story, devised by ASG & Partners. During a three-month period (Oct-Dec 2017) Origin created and rolled out a strategic digital campaign, utilising paid search campaigns across Google and Bing, display advertising and paid social media ads, to successfully target homeowners living near or on the firmus pipeline network.

Using this integrated mix of channels our approach used demographic, interest and geographic-based targeting coupled with Google remarketing to deliver both brand awareness and direct sales.

We also utilised firmus’ promotion of discounted boiler installation to add a clear and concise value proposition to the digital advertising assets that we designed and developed.


To date the Live Life to the firmus campaign has warmly delivered:

  • 13.5% increase in overall traffic year on year
  • 2653% return on investment for firmus energy
  • The most successful month in firmus energy history (October)
  • The most successful year in firmus energy history (2017)
  • 50.28% increase in sales

Going forward, Origin will continue to work with firmus energy to scope more opportunities that help promote Natural Gas installation to homes across Northern Ireland.
